The Waterfowl Festival in Easton - what a show!

We just participated in the Waterfown Festival in Easton, Md. as part of the Artisan Workshop. This was our first live shown and a great opportunity to meet an audience and get valuable audience response . Our product was well received with many excelellent comments and suggestions. As we refine our entire business we expect that our sales will increase . Thanks to one and all who stopped by and encouraged us in this enterprise. Working with both wood and K9’s you learn that there is more to the art than just the sense of sight. Just as important, or maybe even more so, is the sense of feel. Honoring and memorializing trusted canine partners is the impetus behind K9 Carvings. As an empty nester, Dennis Ciesla was seeking an activity which was meaningful and thought-provoking. He discovered Search and Rescue and visited a local team, Chesapeake Search and Rescue Dogs, whose mission excited and challenged him. With his rescued German Shepherd, Emma, who had been given little hope for “making it” as a search dog, Dennis devoted himself to the training and testing and succeeded in becoming deployable in 2002. On April 2, 2016, K9 Carvings was chosen for a special privilege. Through a mutual acquaintance of the producer, K9 carving was invited to reserved seating during the showing of “Searchdog,” shown at the Annapolis Film Festival March 31st through April 3rd, 2016. Directed by Mary Healey Jamiel, this movie follows the professional life of Rhode Island State Trooper Matthew Zarrella, a dog handler in Search and Rescue.
